what is low level laser therapy for pain working Principle?

①Pain Relief: "Laser decreases nerve sensitivity by decreasing bradykinin; a pain eliciting chemical. It normalizes ion channels[cellular gatekeepers] and releases endorphins [body's natural pain reliever] and enkephalins [related to endorphins] that produce an analgesic effect. It also has a pain-blocking effect on certain nerve fibers."

②Anti-inflammatory/Healing: "Laser increases ATP, which is stored energy [ATP is the acronym for adenosine triphosphate]. This increased energy accelerates the repair processes of the cell. Laser also causes a widening of the arteries and veins around the injury which helps to remove damaged cellular debris and increase nutrients and oxygen. White blood cell activity is enhanced leading to a more rapid repair process.

③Accelerated Tissue Repair and Cell Growth: "Photons of light from lasers penetrate deeply into tissue and accelerate cellular reproduction and growth. As a result of exposure to laser light, the cells of tendons, ligaments, nerves and muscles are repaired faster."

FAQ

Q1: Can LLLT effectively address both acute and chronic pain conditions?

A1: Yes, low-level laser therapy (LLLT) has been shown to be effective in addressing both acute and chronic pain conditions. Here's how LLLT may be beneficial for each:
Acute Pain Conditions:
Sports Injuries: LLLT can promote tissue repair and reduce inflammation, aiding in the recovery from sports-related injuries such as sprains and strains.
Postoperative Pain: LLLT may help manage pain after surgeries by promoting wound healing and reducing inflammation.
Traumatic Injuries: In cases of trauma, LLLT's anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects can contribute to pain relief.
Chronic Pain Conditions:
Arthritis: LLLT has been studied for its positive effects on both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, providing relief from chronic joint pain.
Back Pain: Chronic back pain, whether due to conditions like herniated discs or ongoing issues, may be alleviated through the anti-inflammatory and tissue-regenerating effects of LLLT.
Neuropathic Pain: Conditions like diabetic neuropathy or sciatica involve chronic nerve pain, and LLLT's ability to modulate nerve function may offer relief.
Fibromyalgia: LLLT has been explored as a complementary therapy for managing the pain associated with fibromyalgia.
LLLT is considered non-invasive and generally well-tolerated. It works by promoting cellular function, enhancing blood circulation, and reducing inflammation.
