what is laser treatment for canine arthritis working Principle?

After the laser is applied to the appropriate part of the organism, the desired stimulus occurs and the irradiated tissue responds to this stimulus by adjusting the synthesis of proteins and nucleic acids, influencing the replication of DNA, regulating the function of enzymes at the molecular level, and mobilizing the compensatory, nutritional, reparative, immune, and other regenerative or defense mechanisms at the cellular level in order to eliminate the pathologic process.

Clinical cases:

Based on clinical symptoms, physical examination, thermal imaging examination, X-ray, and other examination results, Ben was finally diagnosed with an acute right iliopsoas muscle strain.

a. Treatment-laser treatment + physical therapy

The laser treatment plan is appropriately formulated based on Ben's weight, hair length/color, and tissue depth required for treatment. Physical rehabilitation therapy is performed at the same time as laser treatment, that is, regular static stretching of the iliopsoas muscle to help the muscle restore function and prevent muscle atrophy.

Strictly limit Ben's activities in the first 6 weeks of the treatment cycle to prevent him from causing secondary injuries when jumping; starting from the 7th week, some lower crossbar jumping events are added to the physical rehabilitation treatment to help him recover; in the next 4 weeks Gradually increase training intensity during the week.

b. The laser treatment plan is as follows: ① Laser treatment equipment: COZING laser therapy device ② Treatment cycle: Complete 8 laser treatments and physical therapy within 4 weeks ③ Laser treatment range: Laser treatment of Ben's right waist muscle tissue and extension To the origin of the iliopsoas muscle on the medial side of the proximal femur (lesser trochanter). ④Note: A thermal imaging inspection is performed before each laser treatment so that the laser treatment plan can be adjusted in a timely manner.

c. Prognosis:

After 6 weeks of treatment, Ben returned to normal activities and his right iliopsoas muscle no longer showed any pain. After 12 weeks of treatment, Ben could jump over obstacles easily and without hesitation. The prognosis is good.

d.Case Summary

Laser therapy is a treatment suitable for acute injuries that can quickly relieve pain in sick animals, improve blood supply to the affected area, and stimulate tissue healing at the cellular level through the process of photobiomodulation. Laser treatment has been shown to promote tissue healing without forming scar tissue that can cause re-injury.

FAQ

Q1: How does laser therapy specifically target inflammation and pain associated with canine arthritis?

A1: The 808nm laser light penetrates deep into the tissue and interacts with cellular components, initiating a series of biochemical reactions that help decrease inflammatory markers and mediators. Additionally, laser therapy stimulates the release of endorphins, the body's natural pain-relieving substances.
